Armenia Records New Achievements in the Aviation Industry

The rising interest in Armenia has hugely affected the aviation industry of the country. As we have noted earlier, this is of utmost importance for Armenia as new routes aim to boost trade, tourism, and investments in Armenia.

In July, the government of Armenia announced the establishment of a national airline in cooperation with Air Arabia. Simultaneously, Sil Group Armenia announced the establishment of a national air carrier in cooperation with Moldovan FlyOne company.

Before these announcements, the European Union signed an aviation agreement with Armenia, which has associated the country with the EU’s internal aviation system. Furthermore, Wizz Air relaunched its flights Yerevan-Vienna-Yerevan and Lufthansa airlines started operating flights between Yerevan and Frankfurt.

More achievements have been added to the list since the end of July.

Gyumri Airport

The large-scale construction of the Gyumri airport is in its final stages.

It is twice as big as the previous one and has 8 passport control service booths, as well as luggage conveyor belts and so on. The new airport has enough capacity to serve 3 flights per hour.
