Armenia in 4 Days: Best Journey Recommended by a Local

Trying to put together the perfect 4 days journey in Armenia? You are at the right place as we have your work cut out for you!

We have put together these 4 days in Armenia itinerary to ensure you make the best of your time.

We’ll share a few notes before covering the itinerary:

  • Make sure you are prepared with excellent walking shoes as you’ll walk a lot throughout your vacation in Armenia,
  • Take a jacket irrespective of the season as it is sometimes cold in the countryside even in summer,
  • You can opt for any hotel in the center of Yerevan. The service is good in all hotels so your selection can be based on your design preferences (all these hotels are available on Booking.com and Tripadvisor.com) and of course, on budget.

Day 1

Do you belong to the category of people who reach for a cup of coffee immediately after rising? Well, start off day 1 with a cup of coffee in one of the cafes in Cascade. You’ll love the experience.

Once you have enjoyed your energy-boosting breakfast, you can climb up the stairs of Cascade to enjoy the panoramic view of Yerevan. Stroll around the center of Yerevan and visit the Saint Sargis Church and the Blue Mosque.

Best investment options in Armenia for 2021

You can enjoy the local cuisine in one of the restaurants on Abovyan street. We recommend that you order local meals, such as tolma, barbeque, salad with dock, khinkali, etc.

After lunch, you can head towards one of the parks in Yerevan, such as the English park or the water park next to it, the Lover’s park, etc. In case you are a history and art lover, you should visit the National Gallery, the Matenadaran, or one of the contemporary museums of Yerevan.

Don’t forget to go to Republic Square after 9:00 p.m. to watch the singing fountain show.

Day 2

Day 2 gets you stuck into Armenian history and culture. We suggest that you go on a day trip to Garni and Geghard. The Temple of Garni is the only standing Greek-Romanian colonnaded building in the country.

The scenery of the monastery of Geghard will leave you speechless. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site carved out of stones and surrounded by cliffs.

You should dine in one of the restaurants with a Garni view. Fascinating photos guaranteed!

Once you’re back to Yerevan and day has transitioned into night, it’s time to immerse yourself into some wine time. Spend your evening in one of the wineries on Saryan street. The outdoor experience is the best!

Day 3

Let’s kick things off on Day 3 with some countryside experience. There are so many options to consider from history tours to food tours that it’s difficult to opt for this or that experience.

What’s more Armenia than a hiking tour? Well, this is something you shouldn’t skip even if you are in Armenia for 4 days only. We recommend that you head towards the Tavush region.

Armenian Country Side

Yenoqavan is the ultimate place to visit in case you love adventures. The Zipline there offers the most amazing views. Alternatively, you can spend a few hours in Parz Lake resort, which also offers some sports amenities.

Dilijan is another must-visit place in Armenia even if you are here for 4 days only. It has many nice venues for lunch such as Qarahunj, Papanino House, Kchuch, etc. The view from Haxarcin Monastery will stay in your memory forever.

On your way back home, you should stop at Lake Sevan, which is the largest lake in the Caucasus region. You have no excuse for not eating fish there.

Day 4

At Kingsmen, we recommend that you spend your last day in Yerevan. You can do some souvenir shopping at Vernissage flea market. Not only will you take home some nice gifts, but you’ll also get the true Armenian spirit there. You can spend the last hours of your stay in Dargett brewpub, which is located in the center of Yerevan.
