Not once have we mentioned that Armenia has become an attractive country for investors these days. This refers to both Yerevan and other regions.

As such, the project of the company “Digital Pomegranate” is worth mentioning. This company is launching the first of its kind residential district in Gyumri – a business ecosystem with unique technologies, which will stimulate innovation, ensure the district residents’ adequate and sustainable living, and will have a positive socio-economic and environmental impact.

The Armenian-Chinese center “Digital Silk Road” and the latest start-up companies established in Gyumri will relocate to this district.

The project coordinators have many ideas, which makes them believe the techno district will make the whole world interested in coming, seeing, investing, and setting up enterprises. All these initiatives will be aimed at proper implementation of five goals: “Prosperous city”, “Green city”, “Integrated city”, “Creative city”, and “Technology city”. Along with ensuring an ecological and technological environment, the new district will correspond to the UN’s all 17 sustainable development goals.

The eco and techno “Distrikt” will open new workplaces for the young workforce and leading professionals.  As per the words of the project coordinators, their ultimate goal is to stop the outflow of talented people from Gyumri.

The district will be located in the western part of Gyumri (near the districts Bulvarayin and Mush), 10 minutes away from Gyumri Center. The touristic sites of the Black Fortress, Paytadzev Fortress, and Mother Armenia complex are located nearby.

The project will be implemented in 3 stages. As per the initial estimates, the 1st phase will last three years, and it will require an investment of about 20 million US dollars. The timeline and the budget of the next phases will be clarified once they complete the ongoing studies.

The Ministry of Economy of the RA and the municipality of Gyumri will provide state support for the implementation of the project.

“Digital Pomegranate” company was founded in 2013. It is a software development company based in New York and Gyumri developing mobile applications and websites.
